In April of 2022, Mother Gerry Clemmons, the former Rector of St. John's in Cohoes, died of a form of dementia. During her time in Cohoes, she touched the lives of many and inspired countless people in their faith. She was deeply loved and will be missed by family and friends.
Prior to becoming a priest, Gerry was a Physical Therapist and an English Teacher. Gerry was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She was also an avid runner and winner of many awards, Gerry was named Female Runner of the Year by the Foxborrough Running Club in Charleston, SC, in 1993. She completed the Marine Corps Marathon in 1990.
On October 26 we plan to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in memory of Mother Gerry and in honor of the over 6 million Americans who are currently living with Alzheimer’s or other dementia. We invite you to walk with us and, if possible, to provide financial support to move us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.
