Support our team for the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
Care Answered, a patient advocacy and care coordination agency, was formed in large part due to my father, Joseph Greene Jr. and our family. I remember when Dad, a retired bus driver, came to visit me in Queens and could not remember where he parked the car. This forgetfulness would not be a concern if it happened to me, I did that kind of thing all the time, but not my Dad. The silver lining of that situation was he parked next to a church I didn't know was there. That church became my church and the church where he walked me down the ailse to marry my husband. Soon after that, after a number of other incidents, we had the conversation. He knew excactly my concern before I got the words out. My already strong (Greene Strong), supportive family became even more so. But even so, answers were not readily available, coordiation of care was often abysmal and outward support from enitiies was unseen. Although there is more out there now, it is a devastating disease that affects 10% of those 65 and over and highest for those of us who are African American and thier families.
We honor Daddy, Joseph Greene Jr., family and all the clients and loved ones of Care Answered living with Alzheimer's disease or who have lost someone to the disease. We support you and we see you. Let's End Alzheimer's Disease together!
