Hello, and welcome to henley's heroes!
For those of you who don't know our family's story, our husband and father, Mike Henley, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the age of 36. His mother Barbara and brother Rich were diagnosed with the disease as well, both when they were in their 40s. Our family cared for Mike at home for 11 years while he battled the disease, as well as the many other health problems that came his way, and he did it all with a smile. He was - and always will be - our hero.
We've made it our mission to advocate for Mike, Rich, Barbara, and the millions of others who have lost their voice to this disease.
Our Lemonade Stand is back this year for it's 17th year! We're making some adjustments to make sure everything is Covid-safe, and we hope to see as many of you as possible on our corner on Saturday, August 26th!
As always, we know money is tight, and we know there are so many wonderful, important, and absolutely necessary causes all asking for much needed financial help. We'd like to humbly add our little team to that list. Now more than ever, Alzheimer's patients and their families need the invaluable help and support provided by the local chapters of the Alzheimer's Association. Alzheimer's is an alienating, isolating, and disorienting disease on a good day. During a global health crisis, it becomes a million times worse.
As always, thank you SO MUCH for your support! We couldn't do this without you. If you'd like to participate on Walk day, you join our team, henley's heroes, or start your own team! Or if you can't make it to the Walk, you can support the cause by wearing purple and walking in your own neighborhood! Let's #ENDALZ together!
