I am really not sure that I can summarize things quickly but here is a recap:
· We have personally lived with this now for 5 years and watching my parents decline, and seeing the effect it had on my family has been very difficult
· Watching my parents’ frustration when they struggled with simple tasks and tried hard to remember things was heartbreaking
· To me this walk has two benefits: we are supporting the ALZ Association so they can support the caretakers with free resources 24/7, and we are helping to raise money for the researchers so we can put a stop to this horrid disease.
· The ALZ resources were invaluable, often when I was sad or frustrated I would call 24/7 helpline 1.800.272.3900 and get qualified people to guide me with excellent advice and perspective. When you call, day or night, you get trained experts on the phone live -- and the support is amazing. They also follow up by sending reading materials pertaining to the subject you called about.
