I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 13 million by 2050.
Both of my parents endured dementia at the same time. Although it always appeared they knew each other, the lifetime of memories they shared were gone forever. This disease stole their past and the future they were entitled to. In their honor, I raise awareness and funds for programs, services and research. Caregivers should not hesitate to reach out for guidance and support navigating this disease. I encourage you to join a walk to End Alzheimer's or donate if you can. Alzheimer's disease needs to become a thing of the past not our future.
