This group of photos showcases one of our most famous and memorable family stories..... my dad was teaching my son to fish. After spending time warning Devin not to cast into the trees, not to cast too quickly so as to unwind the line - Devin caught a nice fish, and my dad is the one who cast into the tree and had to restring his line. It is one of those laughable family stories; but also such a fond memory. Several years later just before Devin was heading off to college he stood next to my dad at this same spot....the two would have a conversation that was heartbreaking for my son. My dad asked him, "who taught you how to fish?" And, my son would reply; "my grandfather". My dad went on to tell him how lucky he was to have had a good teacher, never realizing that the grandfather was him. My dad had Alzheimer's. We are once again walking to ENDALZ. In the 10+ years that we have been involved with walk, we have met so many families touched by this horrible disease. We walk not only for my dad, but for everyone touched by Alzheimer's. We walk to raise money for research, to raise awareness, and support, and ultimately a cure. Please consider making a donation...
