I idolized my dad growing up - we always did fun things together - these photos show some of the things we did in my youth - "one more boat ride" "pull us around the yard in our wagon" "let me ride the animals at Enchanted Forest". Later in life, we skied together, and my dad so loved to dance the polka. Even when he was in a nursing home, we spent time together throwing the ball for my chocolate lab - Kayla. It was very hard to watch my dad lose all those family memories, and equally as hard for me to realize that my dad no longer knew I was his daughter. In the 10+ years that I have been involved with walk, I have met so many families touched by this horrible disease. I continue to fundraise not only in memory of my dad, but for everyone touched by Alzheimer's. I fundraise to raise money for research, to raise awareness, and support, and ultimately a cure.
