More than 6 million people in the United States suffer from Alzheimer's Disease or other form of dementia. The disease impacts the individuals afflicted and those caring for them. We have seen recent advancements in the medical treatment for this disease with medications that have been proven to slow the disease obtaining full FDA approval! The Alzheimer's Association provides money for research, and advocates on behalf of the afflicted community to fight for legislation to provide for the afflicted and their caregivers, and to ensure access to medications that have been proven to slow the progress of the disease.
