My dad suffered for many years, this disease took away his mind, body, and soul. It took away a husband, father, and grandfather until he shut down completely. My aunt is now suffering from the beginning stages of Alzheimer's and it breaks my family's heart to watch her become an empty shell. This year I not only walk for them but for my mom who just passed away from her own demons.
I choose to donate, raise money, spread awareness, and walk with the hope of giving my future, my son's future and others a fighting chance. No individual or family should ever have to experience this painful battle.
