My mother was diagnosed with Dementia when she was 62. She passed away at 68 years young. She suffered from Frontal Lobe Dementia. It was very aggressive. Along with the confusion, she lost her speech very early on. Dementia is a thief. I am walking to raise awareness. I am walking in honor of my mother. I am walking for those who have received an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. I am walking for all of the many loved ones turned caregivers who are giving so much of themselves, sometimes 24/7. Most importantly I am walking with HOPE. Hope that one day there will be the first Alzheimer’s survivor.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
