The October 2024 Asheville Walk is coming up sooner than we think. Before then, I'm asking that you please help the Alz Assn work to End Alzheimer's through a donation to this site.
As you may know from previous years, my dear brother has Alzheimer's. The blind study at Johns-Hopkins to determine if a deep brain stimulation device will be helpful in slowing Alzheimer's progression is coming to an end. We all hope the results would show improvement for anyone using the deep brain stimulation device. On the happy side - the family continues to enjoy their little granddaughter - quite a happy and adventuresome one! I am honoring my brother for participating in this study and too many others of my family members through the ages with my volunteer work with the Alzheimer's Assn, and I hope you will support this effort as well.
People ask - did they forget your name? - If only it were that simple! Dementia is a syndrome in which there is progressive deterioration in cognitive function beyond what might be expected in normal aging. Check out "Know the 10 Signs" on the Alz.org site to see the difference. Alzheimer's affects memory, thinking, orientation, calculation, comprehension, learning capacity, and judgment.
Thank you for helping to #ENDALZ, from me, my family and others who are affected or care about someone who is.
