The Statistics: According to the Office of National Statistics, Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias were the leading cause of death in 2022. More than 6.9M Americans are living with Alzheimer's now, and over 14M are expected by 2060. 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer's or other dementia. Last year, more than 11.5M caregivers provided an estimated 18.4B hours of unpaid care - that averages 31 hours per week. Alzheimer's and other dementias will cost the United States about $321 billion (with Medicare/aid covering only 2/3), not including care-giving. This number is projected to rise to more than $1.1 trillion in 2050.
