In January 2020, I lost my beloved mother, who suffered from vascular dementia. I, along with my 4 siblings and our amazing paid caregivers, provided 24/7 in-home care for my mother from January 2016 until October 2019, when she moved to a skilled nursing facility. I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. As a former caregiver, I can attest to the amazing resources available from the Alzheimer's Association to those who find themselves in the difficult position of caring for a loved one with dementia.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's! I look forward to the day when no one faces the threat of this horrible disease.
