My mother, Donna, is my inspiration for creating our team Donna's Dream Team and being a part of the Walk to End Alzheimer's. Donna was always thinking of others and trying to help out where she could. Family was very important to my mother. She would go above and beyond to help family, especially her children! Mom really only wanted to spend her golden years with my Dad traveling and spending (spoiling!) time with their grandchildren & great grandchildren. Mom enjoyed life no matter whether she's working in her flower beds, designing new craft creations, participating in various clubs in the community or simply playing with her grandchildren. That all changed when Donna was told she had Alzheimer's. Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's just a few short years ago. Each day brings different challenges, all of which make it harder to do the things she loves to do. My Dad, my sister and myself along with other loved ones are trying to keep her going and enjoying the things she loves. It's not easy, but like many other families, we just want to put a stop and possibly find a cure for this horrible disease!
