Ending Alzheimer’s is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. While I am fortunate not to have been affected by Alzheimer's in my personal life, I worked with people with various stages of Alzheimer's disease and their families for over five years. I have also volunteered for the Alzheimer's Association as an early stage support group facilitator, working directly with the husbands, wives, and children of people diagnosed with Alzheimer's and dementia. Through these experiences I have seen the heart wrenching affects this disease has not only on those living with the disease, but also how it affects the lives and well-being of loved ones and care takers. I know first-hand the positive work that the Alzheimer's Association does not only to aid in Alzheimer's research, but to support the families of people living with Alzheimer's in many ways.
I will be selling various crafts and other projects to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association leading up the Edwardsville Walk on October 19, 2024. This will be my fourth year walking, and it is a fun, heart-warming experience. Please donate or join me at the Walk this year!
