Again this year, I am walking in memory of one of my best friends, Marilyn, who lost her struggle with Dementia in April, 2021. Marilyn had a very active life since the day we met in 1990. Over the years we had many good times, making many memories together. We were more like sisters than just friends.
As Marilyn became more and more confused and forgetful with everyday activities, her family and I witnessed and provided help, as she was declining in health.
After 4 long years struggling with this disease, it had taken a toll on her body.
As I spent the final days with her, it was heart breaking watching as she slipped away. This beautiful, fun loving friend of mine for more than 30 years did not deserve this ending. I witnessed as she was slowly passing to her next life, and I prayed she would be well, and free from suffering.
After loosing my Grandfather years ago, whom I loved dearly and my best friend,
now I have two Aunt's struggling with dementia.
Please help me, so no one else has to suffer from this disease.
I am walking to collect donations, to advance the care, support and research for the cure by the Alzheimer's Association
Serving 86 counties in Missouri and 10 in Illinois, the Alzheimer's Association Greater Missouri Chapter works tirelessly to support the over 120,000 people in the region currently living with Alzheimer's and their caretakers..
THANK YOU for reading my personal story. Your donation of any dollar amount is greatly appreciated.
Love and good health to all,
DiAnne Brandhorst
