My son Shane Leftridge, was diagnosed in the Fall of 2022 (age 53) with Early Onset Alzheimer’s. As you can imagine it was a devastating blow to him, his family and our entire extended family. Experiencing this happening to your child is something no parent should ever have to face.
Walking to End Alzheimer’s is hope for the future. Scientists and doctors are working around the clock to find a reason and a cure for this horrible disease. There will be a cure one day. It may not be in time for my wonderful son but it will bring hope to his children and prevent this happening to other families. And that is the hope of Shane and all of our family.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for your support!
