"You can't explain what it's like to mourn someone who is still alive unless you've experienced it firsthand." - Jessica Seay-Soto
In our case, our mourning started a little in December 2019 when mom got diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease just before her 57th birthday. Little by little she started slipping away from us and all the things that made her her.
Lucky for us and for mom, her battle ended in January 2024 and she passed away peacefully from this awful disease. We missed her greatly during her four year battle, and will continue missing her, though we are at peace knowing her suffering is finally over.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
