This disease has affected the Nelson family deeply. We (cousins) have lost our Grandma, Asbjorg Nelson and her children Doris, Ida, Lyla, Niel, Arlis, and Marvin (our parents) to this terrible disease. Currently, Betty is the only remaining child who is living in Grand Forks with Alzheimers. We are the next generation! Therefore, we are fund raising for the Grand Forks, ND walk in 2024. The Nelson cousins starting participating in the Alzheimer's Walks in 2018 by walking in Fargo, ND. We walked in Bozeman, MT in 2019 and we planned to walk in Brainerd, MN in 2020 but were unable to get together in person due to Covid 19. We walked in Brainerd, MN in 2021, then walked in Bismarck, ND in 2022 and walked in Rapid City, SD in 2023.

For 2024 we are planning our own event in Arnegard ND where Andrew Nelson (Grandpa) immigrated to, from Norway in 1923, to honor the 100th anniversary of the Nelson homestead. The event will be held at Nelson Park (named after Grandpa & Grandma) in Arnegard. All of our fundraising will go towards the Grand Forks, ND walk where Betty currently lives with this horrible disease. Each year we plan to come together at a different location to raise awareness and fundraise to help find a cure for this disease. Please help us by showing your support with a donation!
