Welcome to our team page for the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®! Walk is the largest event to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®. It’s held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, and our team is excited to participate this year.
I have a cherished memory from my childhood, swinging next to my Grandmother while overlooking the beautiful Mille Lacs Lake in Minnesota. Those moments are deeply special to me. However, as time passed, the nature of my memories with her changed significantly. I remember her lying in a bed set up in my Grandfather's living room, where she no longer recognized me. It's a heartbreaking memory, especially knowing she never got to meet her great-grandchildren. I believe she battled with her condition for around 10 years.
Throughout this time, my Grandfather devoted the majority of his life to taking care of her. It was a testament to his love and dedication, something that deeply impacted me.
Now, as I prepare to lead a team for the Alzheimer's walk this fall, I carry these memories with me. I walk with the hope that a cure for Alzheimer's will be found, so that others don't have to remember their loved ones in the same way I remember my Grandmother in her later years. I walk for a future where memories are preserved and cherished, and where love and recognition endure
