Since 2002 my in-laws have been affected by this disease as Ron was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at the young age of 44, while still trying to be a role model to 3 young children. He fought the good fight for 15 years before passing. When you would first meet him, you would leave feeling like you have known him forever, between his wittiness and his good ol' belly laugh- that I still think about today. It's not fair that he isn't here to watch his 3 grandkids grow up, but we know that he has the best seat in the house watching them grow up and are reminded of him often when our almost 6-year-old gets in trouble and needs his full name called out. I am told he is a spit imagine of Ron... look out world!
We fight for this cause as we're hoping to one day add a white flower in the garden, representing the first survivor!
Alzheimer's isn't stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(R), I'm raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease -- funds that allow the Alzheimer's Association(R) to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer's and all other dementia need us now more than ever -- and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease.
Thank you!
