My mom, Mary Beth, was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's in 2008 at the age of 61. Even though that's when we got the diagnosis, the signs and symptons had been present for probably 2-3 years prior. In 2009, we moved her into the Harmony house - an assisted living facility in Little Falls. That November, she under went surgery on one of her kidneys and from that point on things progressed rapidly. Mom passed away May 7, 2010 as a result of of this horrible disease. She was only 63 years old. The last few years of her life were tough on her and our family as we watched the mom, friend, sister, aunt, grandma, and loving person that she was disappear. I don't ever want to have to witness that happen to any one again nor should anyone else have to see their loved one disappear. Your donation can help put an end to this!
By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support. They are making progress and learning more and more about this disease. I hopeful that they will continue to find ways to slow, and eventually, end this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.</p>
