Sweet friends and family! I’ve wanted to build this Facebook message to share, once again, the news that my cousins and I are once again planning to gather to walk in support Alzheimer research, and perhaps equally important, walk to be together with one another. Alzheimer’s disease has ravaged my mom’s side of family. In the past 30 years, the disease has taken the family matriarch, my Grandma Asbjorg, her brother Norman and five of her children, my beloved aunts and uncles, Doris, Lyla, Arlis, Neil, and my own mother, Ida. Each have suffered and been taken by this devastating disease. The youngest daughter, our Aunt Betty Lou, currently lives in a memory care unit in Grand Forks. Our walk is still sponsored by the Alzheimer’s association, but we are gathering together with our family, in Arnegard, at the 100thanniversary of my Grandpa homesteading there. If you feel you can, anything you might be able to share in the “Go Fund Me” page, would be taken and donated to this important cause. Thank you… and just so you know, I won’t be walking a mile, but I have plenty of cousins to push me in the wheelchair.
