Wally & Bud Meyers, 2 brothers born 364 days apart, graduated from Bloomington High together, served in the Air Force together, raised their families in Minnesota and both had Alzheimer’s Disease. My dad Bud had Alzheimer's when he died from a stroke, and my Uncle Walt died from the disease. Alzeimher's is relentless and strips away beautiful memories our loved ones have cherished for so many years. We, as family members try many things to help them keep their memories alive like showing them pictures, sharing stories, watching old movies, singing songs, etc. My dad and Uncle Walt were wonderful people who loved their families & friends. They left us with wonderful memories that we will cherish throughout our life and we love and miss them both very much, If you'd like, you can join our team for the Alzheimer's Association Walk at Target Field on Saturday, Sept 21st.. It's the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. We are walking in memory of Uncle Walt, my dad Bud, Ted, Ardis, Jerry, & Ray Z, Jane & Madeline Holbrook. In honor of, OR, Lanita Hinderks, Lee Walberg, Pat, Dorothy, Michael, and all others living with this devastating disease.
