This year, to support those affected by Alzheimer’s, I am participating in the Twin Cities Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk® on Saturday, September 21st, 2024 to raise funds and awareness to fight this disease. In 2006, I lost my Minnetonka High School Class of 1965 classmate, Julie Newquist Webster, to an Alzheimer's related incident that resulted in her death. Subsequently, fellow classmate, Carol Fischer Parker and I formed the Minnetonka High School Calendar Girls & Friends Team to raise funds in memory of Julie. In the past few years, my son-in-law, Joe Happe, lost his aunt, Mary Staab, to Alzheimer's. We also have members of the Minnetonka Class of 1965 dealing with loved ones with Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's Disease is directly affecting so many of us.....
I'm walking to help reclaim the future for millions! By participating in the 2024 Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's™, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.....
