- Latinos are 1.5 times more likely to have Alzheimer's or other dementia than Whites. Black individuals are 2 times more likely to have Alzheimer's or other dementia than Whites.
- Over 11 million Americans provide an estimated 18 billion hours of care for people living with Alzheimer's and other dementia valued at $339.5 billion. Many of these caregivers also work full time jobs and also care for children.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
This year, I'm walking for our future white flower holder. The white flower displayed at every Walk to End Alzheimer's represents the future individual who will be the first to be cured of Alzheimer's or other dementia. With promising new research and treatments on the horizon, we look forward to the day someone can proudly hold this flower!
