I've spend enough time at the Alzheimer's Association to know that everyone has their own connection to this insidious disease. My grandmother Chris had the mouth of a sailor and a heart of gold. My grandma played by her own rules and I was lucky to play along. She cherished her family, Hoosiers basketball, and the mountains of New Mexico. Alzheimer's Disease stole her from us before her time, but I'm here today feeling as hopeful as I've ever been.
The promise of emerging treatments for this disease fill me with confidence that, one day, Alzheimer's Disease and other manifestations of dementia will be forgotten. Please consider donating to my walk page to support the Alzheimer's Association and our efforts to fund cutting-edge research, support care partners, and my work at the state level to invest in affordable, community-based supports for people with dementia and their caregivers.
