My husband Jack was diagnosed at the age of 49 with early onset Alzheimers Disease. Our children were 14, 12, 10 and 7 at the time of Jack’s diagnosis. As this disease progressed it took precious memories away from him and his ability to be independent in taking care of himself. We as a family took care of him, loved him, laughed, cried and stood with him as he tried to live with this diagnosis. This is my why I walk to bring awareness to this disease so in the future there may be prevention, treatments and a cure. I walk for you Jack, why because I love you honey forever! My love of my life passed away February 13, 2023 two days before our 31st anniversary. We have been Jack’s Angels now he is our Angel!!
I am also walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the 2024 Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's™, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.
