Alzheimer's Disease and dementia spare few families. Maybe yours, like ours, has experienced them firsthand.

During the last 20 years, they have taken three of our grandparents - Karl Kortlandt Sr., Olive Mae Kortlandt, and Bernard Polikoff - robbing them of their memories and stealing their personalities.  By the time they passed away, they could not recognize their children or grandchildren.  In just the past few years, we lost more of our family friends, and learned of new diagnoses of people we love.

Team Kortlandt began participating in the Alzheimer's Walk back in 2008, when it was still referred to as the Memory Walk. We've walked as a family in Ohio, Michigan, Utah, Wyoming and Pennsylvania over the years and are this year walking in Ann Arbor. Our 3-generation family team continues to walk in memory of loved ones lost to Alzheimer's and to prevent more loved ones from losing memories in the future.
