Why We Walk

In August of 2012, mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. We soon realized that the monster had already claimed her mother and brothers. It returned time and again to claim our father's siblings, mother's sister, and our oldest brother-stealing memories, dreams, and ending lives. The emotional, physical, and financial toll of caregiving was immense. 12 lives total have been lost and the only remaining sibling is currently engaged in the same battle. 

We have participated in the Walk To End Alzheimer's since her diagnosis using her nickname, to symbolize her fighting spirit. We walk in her memory as we honor, remember, and advocate for those yet to be.  She didn’t give in, and neither will we! We will ‘fight the good fight’ until we have a “World Without Alzheimer's”

We are committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research, education, care, and support. Our goal is to raise $2000 but your support is needed! Join us in the fight by making a contribution,  joining our team, or both! Of course family members are welcome- even if you don’t live in Michigan. There is power in numbers!! We hope to see you on Oct. 19th. at the Flat Lot in downtown Flint. Together, we will end Alzheimer's!
