Until my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia in 2012, I had no idea that it was what some referred to as senile, and that we witnessed it in my grandmother. While caring for her, I realized in horror that the disease had in fact stolen 9 other family members- each time, stealing memories, dreams, and ending lives. 12 family members which includes my oldest brother, have now gained their wings. Two others are currently living with the disease, with a possible third yet to be diagnosed.
My mother always faced challenges head on - even as she transitioned from this life. She NEVER stopped fighting. I recall the most important lesson she taught me - ALWAYS fight when you feel like giving up. I am determined now, more than ever. I promise to fight by raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research, education, care, and support.
My goal is to raise $1000 but I need your support! I invite you to join us in the fight and take the first step toward a world without Alzheimer's. Your donation may be key to creating the first survivor. You may also join my team and I on Oct. 19th at the Flat Lot in Downtown Flint. Your voice and fundraising can and will make a difference until we have a World Without Alzheimer's. The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with each one of us.
Until we WIN the war…
Thank you,
