Recently I was perusing an online auction to benefit dementia research, and came across this artwork that is the best depiction of Alzheimer's disease that I've seen: the beautiful human brain, filled with lovely memories, represented by butterflies. Memories like family, friends, pets, and remembering how to walk, talk, eat, and breathe. You see they start out bright and packed in, but then they begin to fade, and float away until they are completely gone. Fighting a relentless disease like this takes all of us. Our Walk raises awareness so those dealing with this disease know where they can turn for help. So please join us! We'd love to have you on our team. Or you can form one of your own - it's easy and so much fun! If you're able, a donation of any amount will go far when added to the big pot. It will help with important research, and also go toward programs to aid victims and their caregivers. If you need help dealing with Alzheimer's disease or as a caregiver, do not hesitate to contact the Alzheimer's Association at 800-272-3900.
