Team Boneyes is in honor of our Mother, Sister, Aunt and/or Friend, Bonnie.  In August of 2019, Bonnie gained her wings along with her mind when she went to Heaven.  

The day my Mom, Bonnie, received those words you have Dementia with ALZ was a hard one.  I remember as though was yesterday and the immediate tears she and I shared.  We just didn't know how long or how curvy this road ahead of our journey was going to be.  Her one question was "WHY", "Why her" "Why did she get this stuff" - with tearful eyes and a smile my response was always "I don't know WHY, but I do know GOD gave you fantastic kids (along with sister, many family members and awesome friends) while we go through this together".  It truly takes a village and she was blessed.  I continue to believe this for her today.  However, I know she was Lucky with this; where there are MANY who are not.  This is why we do these walks; along with fundraising and awareness for others who do not have this village.  Miss and love her so much today and always will.
