This is my 27th year taking part in the Walk to End Alzheimer's. My mission began when my Mom, my best friend, was diagnosed with the dreaded disease. I remember, in the beginning, my Mom would say, why can't I remember your phone number, why do you have to balance my checkbook etc. It was a blessing when she could no longer remember she couldn't remember those things. My Mom sewed, baked, cooked, did crafts and slowly all of her talents were taken away. I was fortunate to have cared for my Mom for over 3 years. My sister also had Alzheimer's. I would like to invite you to walk and raise money with me or make a donation, to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, we will be committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support. Currently, more than 6.9 million Americans have Alzheimer's, and that number is expected to increase to 13 million by 2050.It is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. In the United States someone develops Alzheimer's every 65 seconds. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide. Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.
