I walk in honor of my dad Eddie (Fast Eddie in the slow lane). My dad was a friend to many and fantastic advocate in his community for the elderly and those struggling with a substance use disorder. He was also a proud grandfather to 5 grandchildren, an uncle to many nieces and nephews, a brother, bother- in - law, dad to his three daughters, and a loving husband to his beloved Lee. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and he was an old softy, that loved to sing and dance. Alzheimer's took him away too soon; he didn't get to meet his great grandchildren and celebrate all of the accomplishments and successes within his family. I am committed to keep fighting this fight in his honor and I hope someday to walk with the first person cured of Alzheimer's.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. I humbly ask please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for your support, with deepest gratitude, Kate
