Alzheimer’s disease is relentless. So are we. I have watched my Dad fight through this horrible disease for the last several years. As the disease has progressed, so has our heartache as we slowly watch my Dad slip away. The disease takes the livelihood of our loved ones, and their dignity.
There are so many questions and very few answers. The healthcare system doesn't allow for many things, many of which are needed to care for our loved ones during this time. Medical professionals aren't always trained on how to "deal" with patients who have ALZ- and that has got to change. Communication and research are the keys to being able to deal with this disease. We have to be the ones to advocate for our loved ones- but in order to do that we too need to be educated!
Support our team for the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
I pray that we can all do our part to help end this horrible disease, and help those dealing with it in the process. Not only do our loved ones slowly slip away to this hideous disease- but we as caregivers and family loose pieces of ourselves as we try to give them quality of life throughout this process.
Thank you for reading my story, and I hope that if you are able to support us-you will.
XOXO- Sundina
