At Visiting Angels we have the honor of providing care to those with dementia. The mission to bring "the most compassionate and dignified home care" is how we play our small part in helping other in need in our Community. Perhaps this mission was born through my own experience with my grandmother. The impact that Alzheimer's had on her was difficult to watch including her not knowing who my Mom, her own daughter was when visiting. As a Veteran, my grandmother was fortunate to have access to care through the VA. So many do not have that resource, and even with that resource, the impact on family and loved ones can be so detrimental.
There is HOPE!!! Many strides have been made due to the donations from the Walk to End Alzheimer's. Most recently, the FDA approval of Lecanemab, a drug that has shown the ability to slow down the progression of the disease, prove that every penny is important in trying to solve this large health issue.
PLEASE, continue to help this progress toward a cure!
