Welcome to the Walking for Alice team page.
Alice Norwood, grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, passed away in 2011. She had been living with Alzheimer's for many years.
Alice was a devoted, single mother to four children.
Alice supported her family in all the ways you would imagine: helping with childcare, hosting holiday meals, showing up for events, and more! She cared for her daughter, Faye, who has an intellectual disability, until her Alzheimer's required full time care. She gave so much to others, and it's truly unfair her last years on earth were stolen from her by this disease - changed personality, sadness and fear, independence stripped away.
By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, we're raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
We want to spread the mission of this organization so programs that support individuals and families can be funded and offer the important resources that families need!
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Join me in making a gift to the Alzheimer Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's. Thank you in advance for your generosity in supporting this mission!
