For the past 10 years, I've been walking in the fight against Alzheimer's in Grand Rapids, MI. I'm so excited to be home and have a team, the Forget-Me-Nots, in the Plymouth Walk! This disease has deeply impacted my family. I walk for my beautiful Mom who bravely battled dementia until her passing, and for my beloved Aunt Marge, who at 97 years old, continues to live with this challenging condition.
Why the name Forget-Me-Nots? The flower represents remembrance, as well as true love and respect. We always want to remember the joy those with Alzheimer's and all other dementias brought to our lives! And to continue to love and respect our loved ones living with the disease.
Every step the Forget-Me-Nots take in the Walk to End Alzheimer's is a step towards a world where no one has to endure the pain and loss caused by this disease. I've witnessed firsthand the toll it takes on individuals and families, and it's why I'm more determined than ever to make a difference.
I invite you to join me in this meaningful cause. Together, we can raise funds for research, support services, and advocacy efforts that are crucial in the fight against Alzheimer's. Whether you've been personally affected by this disease or simply want to make a positive impact, your participation can bring hope to millions of families like mine.
With much gratitude,
Kris Cleary
