Soon it will be that time again - the Walk for Alzheimer's - and I'm reaching out.....again. Last year it was for my Dad, Icek (Hank) Wluka. He survived three years at Auschwitz and made a life for me, my mom, Bronia (Brenda) and my two younger brothers, Allen and Michael. He also survived colon cancer and a heart attack that required a quadruple bypass. Alzheimer's took him in 2001.
We also walked for our dear friend Gail Pave who Nancy knew since elementary school and I met in high school. With her husband Norm and their kids & grandkids, we were an extended family. Alzheimer's took her in in 2020.
This year, sadly, we're also walking for my dear brother Allen who succumbed after a long and painful battle to Lewy Body Dementia this past March.
Alzheimer's is ruthless and relentless. While there are promising therapies, the first Alzheimer's survivor has yet to exist. Please donate and join us on the walk at Gillette Stadium for the three of them and the millions of others who are suffering and sadly those who will suffer until a cure is found. The walk will be this Fall at Gillette Stadium. It will be confirmed as soon as the Patriots schedule is set.
If you can't join us, then donate and cheer us on....but donate!
Thanks with all my heart for doing this.
