Family and friends,
Five years ago, we said goodbye to my dad, Bill Jackson. Not one day since have I stopped thinking about him, his legacy, and what this horrible disease did to strip him of his abilities to do more for the community, live out retirement with my mom, and actually get to see my kids grow up.
We lived through some pretty tough years and stages of the disease. We don't want this experience to be repeated for more families and are doing our part to help. I help out in three ways.
1. This Walk! I walk with Team Bill, a team that has raised over 150K over the years and will not give up until there is a cure.
2. Chair of the Executive Leadership Committee. I pull together corporate leaders from across the region to increase corporate knowledge about caregivers and people with dementia in the workplace. We work hard to increase corporate sponsorship and involvement in the walk.
3. Advocate for Treatment and Cure. As we speak, people are being denied effective treatment options because of our government. We need access and we need funding. Access to ALL for treatment, not just those who can afford it or are lucky enough to be in a trial setting. FUNDING for a cure and to advance these treatments forward.
How exciting that we are AT LAST in an ERA OF TREATMENT!!!!
Join our team or give a donation if you can. It would mean the world to me and countless others.
