There's certainly no easy way to talk about this, but in April of 2023, my family received the news that our mother had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. The journey since her diagnosis hasn't been easy and we've leaned on one another more than ever before to support our mom in whatever way possible. We're still so fortunate to have great days with our mom and can truly appreciate how special that is.
We know things are going to get hard, but are thankful for events like the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to raise the necessary funds to continue to find treatments for this awful disease. The outpouring of support and the stories from friends who can relate on such a personal level are further motivation to help in anyway we can - from spreading awareness to contributing funds to just showing up for one another when things are hard.
While we're uncertain what the future looks like, our sisu is strong, and we'll continue to come together in support of our mother and everyone else who has a loved one suffering, or has lost a loved one from Alzheimer’s or any other form of dementia.
Thank you for your support - the Gram fam appreciates it more than we can truly express with words.
