My story starts with taking care of an older friend of mine. He is 90 and his wife Eloise is 88. Eloise is the sweetest and most unselfish woman I have ever met. She was a medic in the Air Force, a labor & delivery nurse in her profession, and in her retirement she was constantly going to El Salvador with her church for missionary work to help deliver eye glasses to the underprivileged. One particular caregiver that I work with recommended a documentary called, 'Have You Heard About Greg?' to learn more about the disease. After watching, it caused me to not only donate my money, but also my time. While my hope is to raise money for Alzheimer's, I also hope more people will watch the documentary and have the same reaction I did, which will cause more people to act. Change cannot happen without first having an awarenesses.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research. No donation is too small!
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for your support!
