As most of you know, my father, Walt Shelley, passed on 2/13/24 after living approximately ten years with dementia. It was hard for my father as he suffered the intellectual, emotional and physical losses from this disease and heartbreaking for my family during his long, slow demise. I know too many who have faced and who are currently facing this cruel journey in a loved one.
In honor of my father, I will be participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 6th. The goal is to help raise awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
