Grampa Austin's walkers started after my grandpa lost his battle with Alzheimer's at 98. I needed to find an outlet, and walking was my answer. Each year, I walk to raise funds for Alzheimer's research with the hope that one day, there will be a survivor and white flowers will shine in our garden.  Today, our team has grown as my nephew and niece, mom, Tio Jose, and a loving family friend have joined the battle to fight against Alzheimer's. At 9 and 11, they lost their grampa 'Moo' to dementia. With heavy hearts and loads of determination, they are here to spread awareness.  My dad "Moo" was a brilliant person, and watching him struggle daily with the effects of dementia is extremely tough on everyone. We appreciate our community support, so any small donation you can give gets us one step closer to finding a cure. 

We walk to support the ones we've lost and the ones we love who are dealing with Alzheimer's and dementia. Our small team of three all have been affected in many ways.  We need your support to help us reach our goals. Being a caregiver to someone with dementia opens your eyes and heart to the suffering they are experiencing. We ask for your help and support so research can prove one day, there will be someone caring for a white flower as a survivor.
