William A. Jackson, 71
December 25, 1946 - July 22, 2018
Husband, Dad, Brother and Papa were some of the most cherished roles Bill Jackson played during his lifetime. Taken from us too soon, he died on July 22 after a decade-long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Quick with a joke, a kind word, and a lending hand, Bill was a man of strong faith and conviction. Born and raised in Lynn, and a Peabody resident for years, Bill graduated from Lynn English HS in 1964 and received undergraduate and MBA degrees from Northeastern. A proud Air Force veteran, Bill was a salesman in various industries--most notably at GraVoc.
Bill was an active member of South Congregational Church and previously First Christian Church. He served on the Citizens Inn board for 29 years, and was awarded trustee emeritus. He loved walking, train collecting, volunteering for political campaigns, and spending quality time with his grandchildren.
Many loved ones will carry on his memory, including his wife of 50 years Charlotte (Hersey); sons Bill Jr. and Corey; daughters-in-law Mary (Brus) and Sarah (Consentino); grandchildren Kaitlyn, Brianna, Milo, and Madeleine; siblings John and his wife Pat, Denise, and Richard and his wife Patricia; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Claude and Madeleine Jackson, of Lynn, MA.
The family would like to thank the staff of the VA in Bedford, MA and North Shore Elder Services. Private burial services were held at Pine Grove Cemetery. A celebration of Bill’s life will be September 29th with details to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate more to Team Bill!
