I’m walking in memory of my grandfather, James “Didi” Hobert (aka Gramp aka Uncle Jim aka Dad).
I decided to join the cause after receiving an invitation from a work colleague. The organization's mission struck a chord with me as I thought back to the several years Didi suffered with dementia before passing away, and the toll it took (both emotional and financial) on our extended family. While Didi was not diagnosed with Alzheimer's specifically, the organization's mission includes all types of dementia.
