Johnny Huntsman always believed in giving back to his community. From his humble beginnings in Stuttgart, Arkansas; to the birth of Johnny’s Pizza House in Monroe, Louisiana; he believed in serving great food and helping others. One of his favorite sayings was “If you’re going to help, help as much as you can.” In 2017, Mr. Johnny passed away from Alzheimer’s, but his drive to give back has remained ingrained as the backbone of his company’s calling.
Now employee-owned, one of the ways Johnny’s Pizza House carries forward Mr. Johnny’s legacy is through team participation, fundraising, and our annual regional sponsorship of the Alzheimer’s Association of Louisiana. We work closely with the Association to support their mission to“end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.”
With your help, we hope to make an impact that provides relief for Alzheimer’s patients, their caretakers, families, and friends; and ultimately leads to the end of this terrible disease. This October, customers can support the Alzheimer’s Association by rounding up their totals at any participating Johnny’s Pizza House. You can also donate directly to our Johnny’s Pizza House team fundraising initiative here.
Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative brain disease and the most common cause of dementia. Currently, over 94,000 Louisianans live with Alzheimer’s disease.
