Together, we walk in the memory of Kathy Weber. Kathy was diagnosed at the age of 51 with Early Onset Alzheimer's. She was a very outgoing person, who loved people. She made friends easily with everyone she met. Her love of talking and singing made it easy for anyone who met her to fall in love with her. She met her husband Gary in 1978, and the two were married in October of 1980. They had two children, Carly and Elise. Her family meant the world to her. She in turn was their HERO. She had worked as a Registered Nurse at Deaconess Hospital for 33 years. She retired early at the age of 55. She was then able to spend time with her 8 grandchildren in the coming years. Through those years, it wasn't just memories that she lost. She lost the ability to talk, to walk, and to do the things in life we take for granted like eating and everyday chores. When she was first diagnosed she wanted to make sure to be pro-active in the fight to cure Alzheimer's. She never missed a walk, a Blondes vs. Brunettes game (in which both daughters played for the Blondes), or the chance to be in a research study. Kathy lost her battle to Alzheimer's this February. In her death, she donated her brain to research, so that WE could find a cure! Let's walk in memory of her so that those to come NEVER lose a MEMORY!
