Mamaw Barton, you were a special light within my childhood. You held yourself with such grace in every circumstance and relied on the Lord for all of your strength. You taught so many of us so many things. Personally, I enjoyed our days spent oil-painting together, learning the piano from you, sitting around your kitchen table playing games and enjoying each other's company, watching you cook-- because you didn't like your kitchen crowded, sleepovers, spending holiday's wrapped in your warm love surrounded by all your grandchildren, and helping build your Christmas village each year. I think of you often... when I see a hummingbird fly by, I think of you. When I'm purchasing new stationary, cards, etc., I think of you because you helped grow my love of writing while we would send each other letters with special cutouts and stickers. It's an honor to walk in your memory because your memory of showing and providing us all love is instilled in all of us.
By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for your support!
